Spartan Internet received the financial incentives from Lansing and the purchase with the Lansing School District is complete. They start renovations shortly. This will pave the way for iTec Lansing to house itself in the building and start carrying out the mission we established earlier. Renovations will be a approximately 6 months. Most will be internal and not disruptive to the neighborhood. I would also like to add that our 501c3 should be complete in the next 60 days and we hired Kirk Riley as the executive director of iTec. Kirk is wonderful at writing grants and has a great deal of experience to financially get us going. He did and will still do work for Hi Fitzgerald, for those who know Hi's work. Everything is lining up nicely. This is very exciting news for our neighborhood and everyone involved.
To celebrate, we are tentatively hosting a ground breaking Monday Jan 28 at 11am. The event will be held at the school with leadership from all parties including Mayor Bernero and possibly President Simon and Superintendent Wallace. Everyone is welcome and feel free to invite any and all.
